BIO

"I thought being homeless sleeping in my car was bad, until my little sister was killed August 18, 2018"

In 2014, with no family in sight, LeShai Renee Hunt landed in Los Angeles, California and to her surprise the next few years would be mind-blowing. Homeless in Hollywood. She worked countless jobs and fell privy to the luxurious parking ticket and towing industry in L.A. LeShai couched surfed, slept in her car, and even church floors (24-hour house of prayer) to feel safe.

Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, LeShai Renee Hunt received her first introduction to acting through her mother (Jennifer Bates). By the age of 3 years old, she was already performing in the Christmas Eve Dinner productions that her mother wrote, directed, and performed in herself, too. These productions were on display annually for family and friends, a crowd usually over fifty people. On the other end, LeShai could not find a better time to cry due to effects of intense laughter whenever she is in the presence of her father (June Hunt). With a comedic father and overly dramatic mother, LeShai had no choice on whether or not she would fall in love with entertainment.

As LeShai grew older, due to strong environmental influences, she chose to seek higher education while planting herself in Ohio, the safer bet. In doing so, the desire to learn expanded and she accelerated through the school system with an urgency. After completing an Associates degree before she finished high school and a Baccalaureate degree by 19 years of age, LeShai still had an itch that would not go away. She performed in plays locally at churches and playhouses. LeShai also became a camera operator and assistant camera director for Word City (syndicated broadcast) at the Word Church in Cleveland, Ohio. Seeking higher education once again, she enrolled in an online Master's program at Walden University. Nonetheless, the itch remained in her system. Overpowered by her passion, she took the biggest risk that life had to offer. LeShai took a one-way ticket to Los Angeles, California to quench her thirst to go further.

Running blindly after her dreams, she had not looked back until August 18, 2018 when her sister Jenasia Lenise Summers was killed by a man who snorted heroin and struck her with his car. LeShai's world quickly fell to pieces and she ended up back in her car out of depression. Eight months after the accident, she gathered the strength to keep fighting for her career.

She is always expressing herself creatively through the arts. She loves to come up with different voices, impersonate others, dance, write, train, and study. Her mission is to change lives through entertainment and speaking by providing the audience with an authentic connection to her soul. Each performance and speech empties out a piece of herself that is empathetic in translation to others. Additionally, as a speaker, LeShai tours high schools and every day on the spot to help teens and young adults figure out their purpose through the passions that knock at the door daily.

LeShai studies the Ivana Chubbuck Technique with Tasha Smith at TSAW and at Richard Lawson Studios. She travels back and forth from L.A. to Atlanta. Her drive and love for the hearts of people will be the very thing that keeps the fire burning inside this young gal.
